How to measure your dog

A good fit starts with accurate measurements. Measure your dog while standing, using a soft measuring tape and without adding extra room — each product's size chart already reflects the intended fit.

1. Neck circumference

Measure around the base of the neck, where the garment collar naturally sits. The tape should lie close to the body without tightening.

2. Chest circumference

Measure the widest part of the chest, usually just behind the front legs. This is the most important measurement for most jackets, sweatshirts and suits.

3. Back length

Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, running the tape along the back. Your dog should stand straight and naturally.

How do I choose a size?

Compare the measurements with the size chart on the relevant product page. Sizing may vary between styles and brands, so do not choose solely on the basis of XS, S, M or L.

If your dog falls between two sizes, pay particular attention to chest circumference and the cut of the style. If you are unsure, email us at forpawspl@gmail.com with your dog's measurements and the name of the style — we will help you choose.

Tip: always measure your dog without clothing and do not add extra centimetres “for room” unless the specific product description says otherwise.
